Warriors vs Cougars

The Warriors played even better today... I think it was the pouring rain that gave us that extra edge we were missing last Saturday. This time, I only spent six hours of running up and down the football field... while it was pouring down raining! Check out these photos... at one point I thought we were going to have to swim to get out of there. LOL

Again, as we head into the 2009 Warriors season, expect many photos of Football, Fans and Cheerleading. Hopefully we will have a great season. Go Warriors!   ~Liz

Alabama National Fair Photography Contest

Well today I turned in my 4- 16x20 mounted prints in the Professional Division, for the AL National Fair Photography Contest. I am entering 4 prints total... one in the Weddings Category, one in the Childrens Category, one in the Pictorial Category, and lastly one in the Unclassified Category. Wish me luck, as I face some fierce competition, and several who are extremely talented. I hope these are good enough to enter into the Professional Division. Maybe next year I'll have even better prints, and I will look forward to showing you those as well. Here are my submissions. Hope you enjoy!   ~Liz

Warriors vs Elite

The Warriors had their first official game last Saturday, and although we didn't win, they all played great games. I spent eight hours of running up and down a football field and was extremely exhausted! We did have a lightning delay a few times, which put us behind, and we did not leave until 11pm. Yes, you read it correctly!

As we begin the 2009 Warriors season, expect many photos of Football, Fans and Cheerleading. Hopefully we will have a great season and go straight to the Championship Games in November. Go Warriors!  ~Liz

Photos for Wetumpka Chamber of Commerce

The Wetumpka Chamber of Commerce asked me to take a few photos of the City of Wetumpka, so they may be published in a coffee table book. Hopefully, they will sell many of these... as I would like to get my hands on one when it's published!! Here are some that I submitted for their coffee table book. Enjoy!   ~Liz

Football Season Has Finally Arrived - Warriors Jamboree

Today, was a great day for Football and Cheerleading. Although we didn't win, they all played a great game. I spent four hours of running up and down a football field and am worn slap out! Luckily these were not full quarters played today, but starting next weekend is a different story.

As we head into the 2009 Warriors season, expect many photos of Football, Fans and Cheerleading. Hopefully we will have a great season and go straight to the Championship Games in November. Go Warriors!  ~Liz

Lady Guinevere Stole Silver

Lady Guinevere took second place tonight in the Alex City Camera Club. The competition was 'Mammals', and entries varied from a Buffalo, Rabbit, Squirrel, Donkeys, a Coyote, Cats, Rams, to our four-legged best friend... the dog.
They were all fabulous entries and it was very hard to pick favorites. There are so many talented photographers in the Alex City Camera Club!! I am ecstatic that I managed to place in the top 3 with my first competition in this gifted club.
Without further ado, I present Lady Guinevere. ~Liz

Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk - 2009 Montgomery AL

Two weeks ago, I got to enjoy hanging out with some wonderful photographers by participating in Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk... which our walk was held in Downtown Montgomery, AL.

What is Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk you ask? Well, it’s a social photography event where photographers get together, usually in a downtown area or trendy section of town, to walk around, shoot photos, and generally have fun with other photographers... and everybody participating around the world will do this on July 18th 2009.
Our photo walk was held in downtown Montgomery, AL and began at Court Square Fountain at the intersection of Commerce St. and Dexter Ave., and ended at Dreamland BBQ on Tallapoosa St.

I made a lot of new friends on this Photo Walk, but I also got to catch up with some of my current photography friends. All in all, I had an awesome time, and I got to view downtown Montgomery (the Capital of Alabama) in a different view and light than I normally see the area. The blinders were off to say the least.
BTW, at the end of the walk, we all ate at Dreamland BBQ. That was some of the best BBQ I've ever tasted! What a way to end a perfect evening with great friends!!

Below are a few of my favorites from the Photo Walk.
Hope you enjoy!     ~Liz

Lord Buckingham

I had the privilege of photographing Khadra's Yorkie, Buckingham this past Saturday. He was a sweet and adorable little fellow, but don't let him fool you with his cute looks... he knows he rules the house. So it only stands to reason that I gave him the title of "Lord Buckingham".
Here are a few photos from our session. Hope you enjoy!  ~Liz

Killian Bailey Tanner

I just got a new lens for my camera the other day and had to test it out. Of course my very best model is my four legged son, Killian.
He now dreads when I break out my camera around the house b/c he knows it's going to be aimed his way. But unfortunately, he runs and you can see me chasing him around the yard trying to get a picture of him. Somebody should probably be getting a video of me as I try to capture his photo...that's a site to see. But, I was very excited to start using it as I am going to make use of it for my next photo shoot.

Anyway, I really like my new lens. I got a Sigma 30mm f1.4 prime lens and love the shallow depth of field that I can get with it! I shoot with an Olympus E-3, which is on a four thirds system, the 30mm is actually equivalent to 60mm.
Here's why... for example, a Four Thirds lens with a 30 mm focal length would cover about the same angle of view as a 60 mm focal length lens for the 35 mm film standard, and is correspondingly more compact. That is, the Four Thirds System is said to have a crop factor (focal length multiplier) of about 2.

Did you get that??  LOL  Just trust me, I like my new lens and what I've seen out of it so far. But, Saturday I will put it to the test.
Here are a few photos of Killian that I shot with my new lens.
